I found some old film that never got developed from my Lancaster editorial in Monrowe Magazine. Its a mix of Medium format and 35mm film.
Rogue magazine asked me to shoot a city guide for Hollywood California with Jessica & Brandon. I still feel like a tourist sometimes in this city so it made it easy to capture the energy and excitement of seeing Hollywood for the first time.
We hit all the top spots like the W Hotel, Rooftop Cinema Club, Amoeba Music, The Pantages Theatre & not forgetting to stop by No Vacancy Bar for a drink. Jessica & Brandon are a couple in real life so it helped make the moments feel real and authentic.
We arrived in Lancaster, a working-class, high-dessert town 70 miles north of Los Angeles at 5pm in the middle of June, and it was still 107 degrees. I’ve always wanted to shoot a story somewhere like this, flat desert with power lines and towers running up dirt roads as far as the eye can see. There’s something about shooting in open spaces that helps you simplify things.
This is an editorial I shot Last month for Cake Magazine in NYC.
